Thankgiving 2018

THANKSGIVING 2018

THANKSGIVING LOOKED A LITTLE DIFFERENT THIS YEAR

For our little (big) family of 7 there was no traditional thanksgiving dinner with extended family, no turkey and stuffing and grandma’s Brussel sprouts, aunties potatoes or uncles tasty ham.  It was a day of adventure in Whistler.  Yes, we missed the extended family but we had each other and with the kids growing up and schedules changing we were excited to seize the moment.

AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE

We took some time to reflect and share what we are grateful for…sounds totally cheesy and maybe it was but hey, my kids have come to expect this ‘touchy – feely’ moments from me.  Cheesy or not it is important to have an attitude of gratitude.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS…NO MATTER WHAT

I know, life can be difficult, busy, overwhelming, challenging and well…crumby and we all will struggle, but the best way to make it through is to count your blessings.

The idea is that once you take a moment to be mindful and think of all you are thankful for you can’t help but feel grateful and happy because you realize there is so much to be thankful for.  The simple things, the tangible things the intangible things and the elaborate.  This world, nature, farmers, supporters, coffee in your cup, milk on your cereal, eggs in the pan, a place to rest your head, shoes for your feet, ears to listen and listening ears, hands to hold, a heart that beats, the breath in your lungs and the gift of today.

MY BLESSINGS

So here you have just a few faces I’m grateful for (even if they drive me crazy at times) and a few of the adventures we had the opportunity to enjoy together on our non-traditional Thanksgiving weekend away in Whistler.

Happy Thanksgiving indeed!
