My 2015 Resolutions

Last week I gave you all this talk about S.M.A.R.T resolutions and I haven’t even told you what mine are…procrastination at its best.

You see, once you write down or verbalize your resolutions there is an ominous sense of obligation…you can’t really take them back, they are either goals realized or goals unachieved…but here it goes.

My list is long so I will not bore you with all my resolutions, generally I like to divide them up into 4 different areas of my life that are intertwined but individual as well;  BODY (physical health), MIND (mental/brain development), HEART (relationships) & SOUL (spirituality & faith).  I’ll give you only one resolution from each area.

BODY – participate in 2 or more fun fitness events

I’m not sure if it will be the local Run for Water, a fun run, a ½ marathon, a trail run, a sprint/mini triathlon, the Tough Mudder, MS Cycle Tour, Muck MS, the Spartan or whatever…if you have an idea, let me know?

MIND – read at least 10 non-fiction books this year.

They can be professional development, business, biographies, self-help, spiritual, faith building, whatever but they need to be non-fiction rather than novels

HEART – Pay It Forward with Daily Good Deeds

I like to encourage people and help them out…but last year I was better at thinking of ways I could encourage and support people rather than doing it.  So this year at the end of each day I hope to have gone out of my way to complete 1 good deed…weather it’s words of affirmation or acts of service I will follow through on my ideas.

SOUL – faith building through prayer

I am a Christian and my faith runs deep and into all the above fore mentioned areas of life.  I will focus on my prayer life and journaling prayer.

There you have it, 4 of my resolutions for 2015.  Find out next week how I’m doing, I need to be held accountable.
