Yes, I said ‘sucks’. My kids are gasping that I said this… I really don’t like that expression but I’m trying to make a point.
I find myself saying this so vehemently today because my sister in law, Bill’s sister has been diagnosed with cancer. CANCER SUCKS!
Personally I have lost grandparents, and numerous aunts & uncles to cancer. I have watched my sister battle cancer and win and she has the scars to prove it, I’ve watched my brother battle cancer and be at a truce (the cancer is still in him but is dormant), my brothers wife battle cancer and win, my brother in laws wife battle cancer until the end before she passed away and now…too soon after that loss, cancer rears it’s ugly head again in the family.
Cancer is all too familiar and real for all of us.
Cancer has the power to do a lot of things but in the midst of her battle my brave and positive sister in law brought this inspirational quote to my attention. It reminds us of all that cancer cannot do.
We are all affected by cancer, whether we are fighting cancer or have fought it, or a friend or family member is fighting it or fought it…weather the battle with cancer was won or lost or continues on…whatever the case may be I think we can all agree CANCER SUCKS!
But, I hope the list above helps you gain a new perspective on the limitations of cancer…indeed there is a lot it cannot do.
April is Cancer Awareness Month. Find out more about how we can all work together to kick cancers butt.
You’re a fighter ‘sista’… and an inspiration! Sending love, hugs and prayers your way!
