Fruit crisp – just sweet enough

We all know too much sugar isn’t good for us for a number of reasons…being married to a diabetic I know it can be deadly…or a big problem anyway.  I need to be aware of the sugar content in the foods we eat and as you can imagine that makes dessert in our home a little tricky.  Fortunately there are a lot of low sugar or no sugar options out there that don’t compromise the taste of the dessert and Bill is usually satisfied with just a few spoonfuls of a sweet dessert.  One of Bills favorites is my go to Fruit Crisp:

-1 cup oats

-1 cup flour

-1 tsp cinnamon

-1/4 cup brown sugar or agave nectar

-1/2 cup butter softened

Mix the above ingredients together then sprinkle on your choice of fresh or frozen fruit and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.  (Optional, serve warm (or cold)with a scoop of low sugar ice cream or sugar free whipped cream.  So easy and so delicious and just sweet enough.
