Halloween Safety
Let the trick or treating begin, Halloween is here!
And speaking of tricks, here are some tips for staying safe on this spooky night.
Find Safe Places to Trick or Treat
Many local malls like HighStreet http://highstreetfv.com/happening/the-land-of-boo/and Sevenoaks Shopping Center http://www.shopsevenoaks.com/guest-services/events/offer great controlled trick or treating for the day and outdoor communities like Historic Downtown Abbotsford offer local walk about fun as well. http://www.downtownabbotsford.com/event/5th-annual-trick-treating/. And of course EcoDairy is hosting it’s annual Moo or Boo event http://ecodairy.ca/moo-or-boo-2016/. There will be several community partners on sight with indoor fun, activities, tricks and treats for kids and adults alike.
Be Visible & Smart Trick or Treaters
If you are going door to door, be sure to use sidewalks and crosswalks, travel in groups, carry a flashlight or wear reflective clothing and never enter homes or eat treats that are unwrapped.
Be Well Dressed Trick or Treaters
The right costume can make or break the night. Think comfortable shoes to avoid tripping, comfortable costume that will keep you warm if it’s cold, dry if it’s wet and visible if it’s dark. It’s always disappointing when you cant really see the costume because it is hidden under the bulky winter coat so try dress in layers below the costume if your going out.
Have a safe and SPOOKTACULAR Halloween!
