Not so corny
The first of our sweet corn is ready for picking and while corn is often maligned for its high carb content, everything in moderation right?
Plus, corn is actually an excellent source of B-group vitamins, Vitamin C, folate and dietary fiber.
How to eat it: Corn can be eaten raw though boiled for a few minutes is often the preferred choice. Try not to smother sweet corn in butter – try spices nstead if you feel the urge to up the flavour.
What to look for: When buying corn, husks should be fresh and green looking – not dry or yellow. When you pull back the husks, the corn kernels themselves should be plump and tightly packed together.
