Resolution one, check!

I love how crisp and fresh a new year feels.  It’s like a blank slate, a new beginning and I am all about making resolutions.  One such resolution for 2014 was some more family fun time; quality time spent together doing things we enjoy. Two days into the new year we were already fulfilling that resolution with a family trip to Sun Peaks Ski Resort.

Bill and I have been skiing since our youth, him more than myself.  Through the child rearing years, seasons would go by without strapping on the skis for me, although Bill would sometimes take the older kids to local mountains. Finally I feel like it’s a sport I can really get back into and we can all enjoy. This was the first year all five kids suited up and hit the slopes and we are so impressed with how well they did. They had a blast and were begging to stay longer or go skiing again really soon.  And not only did we enjoy skiing, we had the opportunity to visit with good friends, soak in the hot tub, enjoy the alpine village, play a little hockey, do a little skating and enjoy a whole lot of snow. Needless to say the ‘family fun time’ resolution was a success…now to just keep it up for the next 12 months!
