The Mudderella Experience

I’m always up for adventure and I’m not afraid to get my feet a little dirty either so when my sister Chris asked me to join her for Mudderella Whistler a couple weeks ago, how could I say NO. She’s my oldest sister after all and she’s been bossing me around since I was a kid…just kidding.

I have always looked up to Chris and admired her, she is a whole lot of fun and a real inspiration.  In fact she’s one of the strongest people I know.  She is fearless and has braved adversity and endured hardships always with a great attitude and with an unwavering  devotion and dedication to family and her faith.  So I was thrilled to join her on this adventure.

To make a team of 4 my sister invited her colleague Chrissy (who I just met but is a real hoot) and I extended the invitation to my gal pal and partner in adventure, Sheri.  She too is another strong woman who has had her fair share of hardships and disappointments but perseveres through it all with a steadfast faith and a strong commitment to being an amazing mother.  I felt honored to be on this team.

The four of us started the 9km race in a torrential downpour of cold mountain rain and we were soaked within the first 100 meters. We proceeded to climb a whole lot of uphill and finally some downhill with an assortment of muddy obstacles thrown in.  Let’s just say, they don’t call it Mudderella for nothing, by the time we neared the end we were soaked, muddy and tired.  But the sky had cleared and the sun was shining and warming us up just as we completed the final task sliding down a giant slide into an ice cold pool of muddy water.  Ahhhhhhhhh!

We came, we climbed, we conquered and we were chilled to the bone…brrrrrr. But I’m proud to say  I ‘OWNED MY STRONG’ when I participated in Mudderella Whistler and I had a whole lot of fun doing it.  mudd me

Let’s do it again next year.
